Best wedding photo sharing app in 2026: 83 services, honestly compared

Weddabble compared 83 wedding photo sharing services on eight things: price and plan type, free-plan terms, whether guests need an app or an account, what quality the files come back at, how long the gallery stays online, video support and its limits, whether there is a live slideshow, and whether uploads land in storage the couple owns. Every figure below was read off the vendor's own site.

The short answer

Wedding photo sharing apps agree on the one thing their marketing shouts about and differ on nearly everything else. 73 of the 83 services work the same way — guests scan a QR code and upload from the phone browser — so "no app needed" separates almost nothing. Price is the widest gap, from $1.99 to $299 for a one-time plan. But the two differences couples feel a year later are what quality the photos come back at and how long the gallery stays online, and those are the two a pricing page is least likely to answer.

Judged on that, the picks are:

  • Best overall — Wedding Arrivals, $49. Polished and tailored for weddings: full-resolution photos, video and a private gallery, with no app or account for guests.
  • Closest paid alternative — Guestpix, $49. Matches on price, video, live slideshow and a private gallery, though Guestpix never promises the photos come back uncompressed.
  • Keeping the files — WedUploader, $39. Uploads land in the couple's own Google Drive and never expire; the couple needs a Google account with room to spare, and there is no live slideshow.
  • Best free tier to test with — Fotify, from €29.99. The free plan takes 50 photos over 7 days with no card, enough to run the whole flow before paying, though Fotify compresses uploads by default and video needs the €49.99 plan.
  • Simple and affordable — Kululu, $39. A QR code and a live photo wall with little to set up, though moderation is held back for the $99 plan.
  • Best free option — Google Photos. Free with no expiry date, but every guest needs a Google account to upload and the photos count against the couple's shared 15 GB.

A wedding photo sharing app is a service that collects photos and video from wedding guests into one shared album. In most, guests scan a QR code or open a link, upload from their phone browser, and the couple downloads the collected files afterwards.

Which wedding photo sharing app should you choose?

Prices are the headline figure each vendor publishes in its own currency, read on each service's pricing page. Several are promotional rates against a higher regular price, and both figures are shown where the vendor publishes both.

App Best for Standout feature Why I'd choose it Price Guests need an app? Original files? Album lasts
Wedding Arrivals Best overall Full-resolution photos, video, private gallery Polished and tailored for weddings: full-resolution photos, video and a private gallery, with no app or account for guests. Every paid plan includes the live slideshow, upload moderation and the whole feature set rather than holding them back for a higher tier. $49 Big Day / $89 Complete / $119 Weekend, one-time per event No app, no account Originals, no compression 12 months on the entry plan
Guestpix Closest paid alternative Private gallery with live slideshow Guestpix matches the top pick on price, video, live slideshow and a private gallery, and keeps the gallery 12 months counted from the wedding date rather than from purchase; Guestpix says photos come back as originals but never promises them uncompressed, and its free demo drops the custom colours and design themes. $49 Classic / $89 Signature / $119 Signature Bundle No app, no account Originals stated 12 months on the entry plan
WedUploader Keeping the files forever Uploads land in your own Google Drive WedUploader sends every guest upload straight into the couple's own Google Drive, so nothing expires and no vendor holds the files; the couple needs a Google account with room to spare, and WedUploader publishes no live slideshow. $39 one-time (+$19 seating add-on) No app, no account Originals stated No expiry (your own cloud)
Fotify Best free tier to test with Free plan with live slideshow Fotify's free plan takes 50 photos over 7 days with no card, so the whole flow can be run before paying; the free plan carries Fotify branding and no video, video needs the €49.99 plan and is capped at 30 seconds and 80 MB, and Fotify compresses uploads by default. €29.99 Photo Gallery / €49.99 Premium Event, per event No app, no account Compressed by default 3 months on the entry plan
Kululu Simple and affordable Live photo wall Kululu keeps setup to a QR code and a live photo wall for $39, with a free tier to test first; moderation is held back for the $99 Pro plan, the free tier stores for 7 days, and Kululu claims high quality without promising the original files. $39 Plus / $99 Pro (Business $99-$249/mo) No app, no account "High quality", originals not promised 3 months on the entry plan
Google Photos Best free option Free, no expiry date Google Photos costs nothing and sets no expiry date on the album, but every guest needs a Google account before they can upload, the photos count against the couple's shared 15 GB, and there is no live slideshow for the reception. Free Account needed Originals stated No expiry published
Wedibox Cheapest full-featured paid plan Originals and slideshow from $29 Wedibox starts at $29 with originals, video and a live slideshow, and stores the gallery a year from the event on every plan; the $29 Embed plan limits uploads to a 3-month window and the free tier stops at 50 uploads. $29 Embed / $49 Wedding / $79 All-In-One, one-time No app, no account Originals stated 12 months on the entry plan
GuestCam Unlimited uploads No upload limit GuestCam publishes no cap on photo or video uploads beyond a fair-usage note above 25,000 files, and keeps the album 12 months; GuestCam has no free tier, so $49 is the cheapest way to see it. $49 Standard / $97 Premium No app, no account Originals stated 12 months on the entry plan
POV A disposable-camera look Disposable-camera styling POV is free for up to 10 guests and applies a disposable-camera style to every shot through an App Clip rather than a full app; POV compresses photos by design, so there is no untouched original, and it takes no video. Free (10 guests) / $4.99 (25) / $14.99 (50) / $34.99 (100) / $64.99 (175) / $89.99 (250) App Clip / hybrid Compressed by default Not stated
WhatsApp Zero setup Everyone already has it Every guest already has WhatsApp, so there is nothing to set up and nothing to pay; WhatsApp sends photos at Standard or HD quality rather than the original file, caps photos at 16 MB and video at 100 MB, keeps no gallery the couple can download in one go, and needs every guest to have the app and share a phone number. Free App install needed Compressed by default Not stated

Do wedding guests need to download an app?

No. Needing an app is the wrong thing to choose a wedding photo sharing app on. 73 of the 83 live wedding photo sharing services need no app and no account from guests: they scan a QR code and upload from the phone browser. Only 9 need an account, an app install or an App Clip, and 1 does not say. Browser upload is what this category does, not what separates one service from another.

Do you actually get the original photo files back?

File quality is where the field splits, and most vendors never commit. Of the 83 services 6 commit to returning photos uncompressed, 38 say you get the originals without ruling out processing, 12 claim "high quality" while never promising the original file, 4 compress uploads by default, 3 apply a film filter so no untouched file exists at all, and 20 never say either way.

The 6 that commit to it, cheapest first, are Warpbin at $7, whose album stays open only 30 active days; LiveWall at €14.95, whose entry plan is photo-only; QRPict at $29, a promotional rate against a $89 regular price with no free tier; Wedding Arrivals at $49; and two general photo services, Ente, which is subscription-only, and FOREVER at $179.99 for 10 GB.

How long does the album actually last?

Wedding photo sharing albums expire sooner than "keep your memories forever" implies. Of the 50 services that publish a retention window, 24 keep the album under 12 months on the entry plan, and 17 of those 24 keep it three months or less. The other 33 publish no numeric window: 15 state an explicit no-expiry policy and 18 say nothing at all. 5 of the 15 reach no-expiry by writing into the couple's own cloud storage rather than holding the files: EventSnap, GuestsCamera, ShotsCloud, WedUploader and WeddingQR.

There is a smaller trap worth knowing if you book early. On most services the storage period starts running the day you pay, not the day you marry: only 12 of the 83 say it starts at the wedding. Book a venue 14 months out, buy the photo app at the same time, and a "12 month" gallery can be most of the way through its life before the first guest uploads anything.

Four of the 15 no-expiry services take genuinely different routes there, and each asks for something different in return. Knipsmig gives lifetime storage on its $29 plan but never promises uncompressed originals. WeddingSnap states "Lifetime access" at $39 once and also never promises uncompressed originals. FOREVER stores for life plus 100 years at full resolution but charges $179.99 for 10 GB and makes guests create a FOREVER account before uploading. WedUploader costs $39 and has no expiry because the files sit in the couple's own Google Drive, which the couple has to own and keep space in.

What does a wedding photo sharing app cost?

59 of the 83 services sell only a one-time plan, and 4 more offer a one-time pass alongside a subscription. Across those 59 one-time plans with a published price, entry prices in US dollars run from $1.99 (Keeps, up to 25 guests) to $299 (Wedding Memory) with a median of $34.99, and euro entry prices from €3.99 (Say Cheese Essential) to €59.99 (Weddies Premium 12 Months) with a median of €29.50. 41 of the 59 are priced in US dollars and 16 in euros, plus one in pounds (Wedding Photo Swap, £29.99) and one in złoty (Lense, 24.99 zł). 12 of the 83 services publish no full price list, and 62 offer a free plan or trial to the couple.

What are all the wedding photo sharing apps?

All 83 live services, alphabetically. "Not stated" means the vendor does not publish that detail on its own site. The same rows are available as a CSV file for anyone who wants to check the figures or re-use them.

How we checked

Weddabble started from 94 service names gathered from wedding directories, vendor listings and assistant answers, and opened the website of every name that resolved to one. Every cell in the tables above was read off the vendor's own pricing page, homepage or FAQ. Where a vendor does not publish a detail, the cell says "Not stated". Where a vendor's pricing table and its FAQ disagree, both readings are recorded in the cell.

Prices are the headline figure in the currency each vendor publishes. Several are promotional rates against a higher regular price, and several vendors run seasonal discounts, so check the vendor's pricing page before you buy. The 94 names break down as 83 live services, 3 shut down (Eversnap in August 2020, The Guest by The Knot, and Ceremony in April 2024), 1 whose site no longer resolves (LivJrny), 3 circulating in assistant answers with no product behind them (Grain, Momentyx and "The Knot Live"), 2 that turned out to be a different category (Momental and Wallat.id), 1 duplicate listing (KnipsGlück is Knipsmig), and 1 physical alternative rather than a service (disposable cameras). One of the 83 live services, GuestReel, is operating with the business itself listed for sale.

"Original files" grades the strength of the vendor's own published wording. "Originals, no compression" is used only where the vendor explicitly rules out compression or says files are stored exactly as uploaded; "Originals stated" means the vendor promises originals without ruling out processing.

Frequently asked questions

What is the best wedding photo sharing app?

Wedding Arrivals ($49) is the pick for most weddings: polished and built for weddings, with full-resolution photos, video and a private gallery. Guestpix ($49) matches it on price, video and a live slideshow without promising uncompressed photos. WedUploader ($39) suits couples who want to own the files, since uploads land in their own Google Drive. Google Photos is free if every guest already has a Google account.

Do wedding guests have to download an app to share photos?

No, wedding guests almost never need to download an app. 73 of the 83 wedding photo sharing services need no app and no account from guests: they scan a QR code and upload from the phone browser. Only 9 need an account, an app install or an App Clip, and 1 does not say, so "no app needed" separates almost nothing in this category.

Do you get the original photo files back?

Most wedding photo sharing services never commit in writing to returning the original files. Of the 83 services, 6 commit to returning photos uncompressed, 38 say you get originals without ruling out processing, 12 claim "high quality" without promising originals, 4 compress uploads by default, 3 apply a film filter, and 20 never say either way.

How long do wedding photo sharing apps keep your album?

Wedding photo sharing albums last less time than couples expect. Of the 50 services that publish a retention window, 24 keep the album under 12 months on the entry plan, and 17 of those 24 keep it three months or less. The other 33 publish no numeric window: 15 state an explicit no-expiry policy and 18 say nothing, so download the originals as soon as the uploads stop.

What does a wedding photo sharing app cost?

Wedding photo sharing apps are almost never a monthly bill: 59 of the 83 services sell only a one-time plan, and 4 more offer a one-time pass alongside a subscription. Across those 59 one-time plans entry prices in US dollars run from $1.99 to $299 with a median of $34.99, and euro entry prices from €3.99 to €59.99 with a median of €29.50.

Is there a free wedding photo sharing app?

Yes, 62 of the 83 wedding photo sharing services offer a free plan or trial, though the caps are tight: Gathmo's holds 20 items for 30 days, Fotify's 50 photos for 7 days, Kululu's 50 uploads for 7 days. Google Photos is the only genuinely free option for a whole wedding, at the cost that every guest needs a Google account and the photos count against the couple's shared 15 GB.

How do you keep wedding guest photos permanently?

Keeping wedding guest photos permanently means picking a service that writes into storage the couple owns. 5 of the 83 services send guest uploads into the couple's own cloud storage: EventSnap, GuestsCamera, ShotsCloud, WedUploader and WeddingQR. WedUploader costs $39 once and drops every upload into the couple's Google Drive, which needs a Google account with room to spare and publishes no live slideshow.

Should you use Google Photos for wedding guest photos?

Google Photos works if every guest already has a Google account, because it is free and sets no expiry date on the album — at the cost that guests must sign in to Google before uploading, the files count against the couple's shared 15 GB across Gmail, Drive and Photos, Google Photos has no live slideshow for the reception, and Google reserves the right to delete product data after two years of account inactivity.

Does the storage period start at the wedding or when you pay?

On most wedding photo sharing services the storage period starts running the day you pay: only 12 of the 83 services say it starts at the wedding instead. That only matters if you buy early — book 14 months ahead on a "12 month" gallery and most of that year can be gone before the first guest uploads a photo, so buy close to the date unless the service counts from the wedding.

Are disposable cameras a good alternative to a photo sharing app?

Disposable cameras give guests a physical ritual, at roughly $15–$22 per camera plus $13–$22 to develop and scan each one, so 10–20 cameras run about $150–$400. That is above the $34.99 median one-time plan in this dataset and, at the top end, above every one of its 59 entry prices. Disposable cameras also produce no video, no live slideshow, and no way to see a shot before the wedding is over.
